美国汉学界关于苏轼文艺美学思想的研究成果颇丰。艾朗诺(Ronald Egan)、卜寿珊(Susan Bush)、许龙(XU Long)、包弼德(Peter Bol)从书论、画论与文论三个方面展开深入探讨。书论研究集中于书法展现个性、风格多样化、书法“无法”以及“书与道俱”等思想;画论研究关注苏轼的文人画理论以及形神兼备、胸有成竹等主张;文论研究则重点阐述苏轼的文学思想、文艺批评和创作理论。美国汉学家们从自身文化传统出发,结合个人学术兴趣,择取独特维度对苏轼文艺美学思想予以观照。研究往往突破艺术领域,在历史、哲学、政治等更为宽广的文化语境中进行评判,视角新颖、结论合理,体现出较为宏阔的学术视野。虽某些理解略显偏颇,但瑕不掩瑜,仍可为国内学界提供参考。
Abstract:There is a wealth of research on the literary aesthetic thought of Su Shi in American sinology. Ronald Egan, Susan Bush, Xu, Long, and Peter Bol have conducted in-depth discussions from the aspects of calligraphy,painting, and literature. The study of the theory of calligraphy focuses on the ideas of personality shown in calligraphy, the stylistic diversity, the lack of skills in calligraphy, and the integration of calligraphy and Dao.The study of the theory of painting focuses on Su Shi's theories of literati painting as well as his ideas on the unity of form and spirit, and a well-regulated mind. The study of literary theory focuses on Su Shi's literary thought, literary criticism and creative theory. According to their own cultural traditions and academic interests,American sinologists view Su Shi's thought of literary aesthetics from the particular dimension. While breaking through the art field, these studies tend to make criticism in a broader cultural context of history, philosophy and politics. With the novel perspectives and reasonable conclusions, they reflect a broad academic vision.Despite there are some slightly partial interpretations, they can still provide reference for the academic circles at home.
