根据 2003年海南省统计资料,选用 22个经济和社会发展指标组成县域经济竞争力评价指标体系,通过NOSA统计分析软件进行主成分分析,选取 3个主成分,分别用以反映各县市综合竞争力的综合能力因子、基础因子和工业化因子等三个方面的差异。用聚类分析方法可以将海南省各县市经济竞争力水平分为三种类型。依各县市所在类型确定的县域经济综合竞争力关键因子为政策建议结论提供了有力根据。

To start with the research project, we first of all establish a comprehensive county-level competitiveness evaluation system for the case of Hainan Province, drawing 23 social and economic development indicators from the 2003 annual statistic data. Then we conduct a principal component analysis using NOSA (Non-Optimal Data Statistical System in which. we use three principal components to show the differences of basic factor, environmental factor and industrial factor that reflect the county-level comprehensive competitiveness. Finally, through cluster analysis, we classify the counties (cities) of Hainan Province into three categories according to their comprehensive competitiveness. We assume that such an analysis will provide solid evidence to the policy-makers concerned.
