王禹偁诗学白居易,是宋初白体的主要代表诗人。宋初唱和诗风盛行,王禹偁亦受此影响,较多地学习元白唱和诗的作法,但他能变元白唱和诗重音韵技巧为重风雅兴寄;王禹偁注重学习白居易讽谕诗,其诗能直面现实,但能变白居易讽谕诗重就事论事为就事而能生发;王禹偁同时变白诗轻艳、浅切为"清其格态,幽其旨趣"。尽管王禹偁的变革是局部的,但在变革中起着引领北宋诗歌创作风气的作用,为真正意义的宋诗创作导夫先路。

Wang Yucheng,as a major representative poet in the early Song Dynasty,creates his poems after Bai Juyi's style. Influenced by the popular responsorial style in the poems in the early Song Dynasty,Wang Yucheng learns the skills of the responsorial poems from Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi while he changes the emphasis on rhyme of their poems to that on elegance and personality. Learning from Bai Juyi's poems of allegoric style,Wang Yucheng's poems can face the reality,which transform Bai Juyi's allegoric style of only relating the facts into his style of further extension from the facts. Meantime,Wang Yucheng changes the plainness and frivolousness in Bai's poems to his style of "implicit expression and profound gist". Although with only partial changes,Wang Yucheng's reform plays a leading role in the ethos of poem creation in the North Song Dynasty and paves the way for the real creation of the poems in the Song Dynasty.
